If I could give the most useful piece of advice, it would be to always do your research. A good hour or less of reading and learning can save you thousands of dollars and a world of stress. When our basement in Norfolk County became flooded we hired the first guy who answered our call without a second thought. That left us with a bigger issue and more money to correct the foundation crack that taught us a huge lesson. Thankfully we found the best foundation repair company that fixed our basement properly!
It all began in the spring when we noticed our luxury vinyl planks had dried up white looking dust along the seams in the basement. We brushed it off for awhile not really putting too much thought into it.
As a teenager I had my adult goals all planned out. I wanted to become an architect. I had planned all of my high school courses to fill all the pre-requisites post secondary education would have me already collected.
Once I finished high school I found myself slightly tweaking my previous plans to become an architect. I knew I wanted to work with my hands, creating and building. I didn’t want to just be behind a desk creating and imagining infrastructure into life.
When I was in high school I had taken a co-op course with a local home builder company. That was when I had decided to switch up the plan, I loved every days adventures of learning skills and collaborating.
It was when school ended that I had proven myself to the company and they hired me on as an apprentice. That was when I had some real training to do and realized I wasn’t doing all the heavy duty jobs I thought I was. Ha.
Those hot, humid days are what summer is made of. Here in Canada we wait 3 seasons to get to the fabulous Florida weather. I think those other 3 months are to blame for why we cannot handle the summer humidity and heat in the GTA of Ontario.
Personally I loved the heat as a young adult, my husband…. Not so much. He would be cranking that air conditioner the second the house temperature hits 71. I never understood why, so I always had the windows open at the same time. We were both winning… Right? Nope!
Thankfully the GTA had a reliable HVAC Contractor in our area to fix our unit during the heat wave that seemed to never end.
Starting up my own business was stressful. I had always wanted to have a small office with 2-3 people working for me. Being my own boss and being successful at it was my biggest goal in life.
During high school I was the top student in the arts. Drawing was a peaceful part of my day, therapeutic and kept me out of trouble. I’d join clubs, online classes, anything that had a sketchbook and pencil in my grasp.
Once high school was over I went to college to pursue my passion of the arts. While I was there I also dabbled into business and finances. The latter part gave my parents hope I wasn’t following a failure of a dream.. At least I would have something to fall back on when my art dream didn’t deliver. So supportive…
